Iconic video game persona Pac-Man makes an unexpected appearance in this old Futurama clip. But just recently, Pac-Man was used by live action scientists to gauge how subjects react to danger.

The game when first rolled out was entitled Pakku-Man, which changed to Puck Man, and was quickly changed to Pac Man out of fears that arcade vandalism would make the name a bit more vulgar. But its' simple and addictive design soon became a phenomenon unseen in gaming, laying the groundwork for the current state of video game addiction.

There are those who say that "Computer games don't affect kids, since if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room munching pills anda listening to repetitive music." Feel free to make up your own mind on that.
