Jeeze Louise, that Dubya sure does have a great sense of irony, no? Bush made a speech where he urged Hugo Chavez to defend democracy and reject a drift back to authoritarian rule. Now our first sign of trouble is the buzzword "democracy" since he really doesn't understand the mechanics of how a real democracy works, or if he does just finds it easier to subvert the process.

But when he warns against the urge to "roll back the democratic progress of the past two decades by playing to fear, pitting neighbor against neighbor and blaming others for their own failures to provide for the people" I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry. Perhaps we should try that at home before we mount the bully pulpit and start pointing fingers at others.

Bush joked that he wants to go fishing, but can't take a big entourage with him while he is president. Hey, there is an easy solution to that problem...
