Lies

FROM: nicoleMART:

A man died and went to heaven.

As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.

He asked, "What are all those clocks?"

St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move."

"Oh," said the man, "And whose clock is that?"

"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."

"Incredible." said the man. "Whose clock is that one?"

St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."

Then the man had a thought, "Wait, where is President Bush's clock?"

"Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan."

I usually don't delete comments, but this one sorely tempted me to do so. Let's not forget that Clinton's lies were about his personal life, and not about the meat and potatoes issues of how the government is being run, or should I say mismanaged. Bush's lies have lead us down a path that included tax cuts for the rich that supposedly benefited the poor and middle class, a war justified by whatever this week's "reason-de-jour" might be, populating key positions with hacks and cronies, cutting back education budgets under the banner of "no child left behind", "Clear Skies" programs allowing more pollution, and social security "reform" to name just a few. Hardly seems comparable.
